When we have company or are asked to take a dish to a "Bring-and-Share" meal, I often take this salad. It is one of my favourite dishes, as I love the taste of raisins and onions with the broccoli. People often give it lovely compliments, and I get asked for the recipe. So, since I was typing it up for someone, I thought I'd just go ahead and post it here.
Are broccoli and cauliflower florets raw or slightly blanched for this salad?
ReplyDeleteI use the vegetables raw, as I like the crunch and it is less preparation. However, if someone wanted to blanch the broccoli and cauliflower for a minutes or two, they could.
DeleteIf bacon is an item that rarely gets onto your shopping list, then you could buy bacon bits. They are usually available in most grocery storse. One recipe I have used betore calls for 1/4 (a quarter) cup of bacon bits.
